The Artisan Piano Trio The Artisan Piano Trio is a dynamic ensemble of three of Austin's finest musicians. Toby Blumenthal is the Artistic Director of Classical Sound and a pianist of international renown. Patrice Calixte is the Associate Concertmaster of the Austin Symphony and a violinist of great passion and virtuosity. Douglas Harvey is the Principal Cellist of the Austin Symphony and a Grammy-nominated cellist. Together, they form a trio that is known for its beautiful sound, its technical brilliance, and its commitment to chamber music. The Program The program for the "Trio Tribute" concert features a variety of works that pay tribute to three of the greatest composers of the classical era. Beethoven's Piano Trio in E flat major, Op. 1, No. 1 is a youthful work that showcases the composer's genius for melody and harmony. Piazzolla's Four Seasons of Buenos Aires is a set of four tangos that capture the essence of the city of Buenos Aires. Dvorak's Piano Trio in E minor, Op. 90, "Dumky" is a more somber work that is full of beauty and emotion.
