Program

Experience an evening of chamber music brilliance with the Artisan String Quartet, joined by clarinetist Stephen Girko and pianist Toby Blumenthal Phillips. The program opens with Beethoven’s String Quartet in F major, Op. 59, No. 1, one of the masterful “Razumovsky” quartets, bursting with energy, invention, and radiant lyricism. Next, Stephen Girko joins the quartet for Brahms’s magnificent Clarinet Quintet in B minor, a late masterpiece filled with warmth, nostalgia, and sublime beauty—a true treasure of the chamber repertoire. 

The concert concludes with Debussy’s enchanting Première Rhapsodie for Clarinet and Piano, performed by Girko and Blumenthal, a work brimming with impressionistic color, shimmering textures, and virtuosic flair. This program promises an evening of unforgettable artistry and expressive richness.
